What Do We do With All This Freedom?

On 16.10.2020, an Exhibition examining political, religious, and ethno-national questions in relation to women’s position was installed in the MSURS’s Gallery Plus window as a site-specific case study, partitioned from the inside.

Viewed only from the outside of the gallery, it engaged both the art-circle audience and excluded groups from the street, transforming a power-maintaining cultural epicenter into a site for questioning power.

The exhibition was censored one day after opening, on 17.10.2020. The same institution, Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska, awarded and then banned the exact same work by the same artist within a year. Acts of erasure toward the artist continued over a period of six years.
